Wind Surfing

 

Whether you are a beginner or want to work on your existing skills, there is no better location in the country than Derrynane Harbour.  With its wide sheltered harbour and steady winds, there is no fear of being swept out to sea or strong currents and you can just get down to the business of having fun and learning this very popular sport in safe and beautiful surroundings.

 

We in Derrynane have a long history with windsurfing for over 30 years, and indeed held the Munster windsurfing Championships and the All-Ireland Windsurfing Championships in the early 80's.

 

We do both hire and tuition at the centre all week and have a large range of beginner boards and rigs and an intermediate range as well.

 

Our Instructors are all IWA qualified and are happy to teach both beginners and intermediate courses.

 

Our Courses

1.5 hour classes over 4 days

or 2 hour classes over 3 days

beginners course: €140

intermediate course: €150

 

Individual lessons

Ideal as a refresher or a way of trying it out!

beginners lesson: €40

intermediate lesson: €45

 

All equipment, wetsuits, lifejackets and harness etc. are provided by the centre for courses and lessons and if instruction is not needed all our equipment is for hire.

 

Equipment for hire

Beginner or standard boards and rigs: €16 per hour

Intermediate boards and rigs: €18 per hour

Booking is advisable.
