How to find us....
Unfortunately, we don’t have a post code for Derrynane Sea Sports!
We have to go the old-fashioned way...
The easiest way is to go to Caherdaniel Village and at the cross turn down past Freddies (red Building on your left) and the Blind Piper Bar/restaurant (yellow building on your right) and follow the signs for Derrynane House and gardens. Now when you get to the house there is a large carpark on your right, this is manned by car parking attendants (if you have children that need to be dropped or collected from camps just inform the attendant and he will let you through down to the Pier carpark, also if you have booked in for lessons in windsurfing or sailing the same applies. If the attendant tells you that the carparks are full, and you just wish to hire equipment or just come and suss us out, park here at the House it is a short walk across the dunes and there will be signs along the way, you will need to walk to the life guard hut and down into that carpark, up the road and turn left past Keating’s Bar on your right and you will arrive at the pier carpark and we are located beside the pier. The Pier carpark has limited car parking but has a drop off round about and a lovely Crepe Van too. This is about a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk along the top of the beautiful Derrynane Beach (it may be advisable to bring rucksacks with your gear for the day). Traffic usually quietens in the evening, so it is often possible to send someone back for the car to come and collect.
If you wish to carry on to the Lifeguard car park and/or Pier carpark driving, be prepared to be stopped again by the attendants. Drive past the parking at the house and drive around the house until you come to a white gate (it is very distinctive) with a bell in it known as the Bell Gate, turn left and drive on down the road till you see the second car park on your left, this is a fairly large car park with an attendant (most of the traffic is directed in there), if you park here you are only 5 minutes’ walk from us ! again walk to the top of the carpark on to the road you turned down turning left and past Keating’s Bar and on to the Pier.
If you wish to park at the pier (it is very hit or miss after 11.30am particularly on a fine day!), it is advisable to be there early to get a spot as it fills up quite quickly and the attendants will not let you down unless for a pick up or drop off if the carpark is full as it causes congestion on the narrow roads will people trying to come back up, when there is no space.
We are open 7 days a week regardless of what you may be told:- (if for some untoward reason we have to shut we will inform social media and Derrynane House and Gardens Staff)

Bit of Advice...
Bring your beach stuff in a backpack/rucksack in case you may need to walk to or from the carparks, place can get very busy and you might have to walk to and from Derrynane Sea Sports to a nearby carpark.
Car Parking Attendants...
Derrynane is a magical and most beautiful corner of the world on the Ring of Kerry on the Wild Atlantic Way, and it is very popular with everyone but in recent years it can get congested with traffic and bad parking so new car parking attendants have been employed by Derrynane House to help relieve the stress of parking etc.
Please adhere to the signs for wheelchair parking and emergency vehicle parking in all the car parks. Please remember the attendants are only doing their job and are not perfect but they are doing their best to make the situation and your experience easier, if you engage with them they are happy to answer your questions and give directions.
Please keep in mind there may be a small walk involved but the walk is in beautiful surroundings and is not very far.
